in partnership with the
British Library!
FREE family day of interactive fun with ESEA authors and illustrators! Dumplings, animal adventures, portals to other worlds, character fun.

PORTALS & OTHER WORLDS. A tardis? A shoe? A time travelling toilet? Authors Anne Chen, Candy Gourlay and Camille Whitcher will take you by the hand into story portals to other worlds. There will be storytelling,  lots of drawing, and worlds you never thought existed!

YUMMY IN MY TUMMY. Join Jason Chuang, Natelle Quek  and Eva Wong Nava for two yummy story telling sessions of The Moon Rabbit and Dancing Dumplings For My One And Only, and learn how to design your own rabbit and make your own mooncakes and dumplings.

DYNAMIC DUOS! We present you two fantastic authors and their books. Meet a grumpy cat and a shapeshifting fox, the dynamic duo of Eric Huang's Guardians of the New Moon.  Maisie Chan will introduce you to Nate Yu, who somehow summons a ghost from long ago. Bring your imagination to an hour packed with drawing, storytelling, and make-believe.

ANIMALS & OUR PLANET Meet two authors who think animals are magic! Lui Sit will tell you about her heart pounding adventure story The Last Wildcat, and Candy Gourlay will beguile you with her Little Rhino Lost!  Learn how to draw animals, and help create an animal story with Candy and Lui, with the help of a magic bag and hilarious storymaking game!

THE ENDLESS SEA. On the 50th anniversary of the end of the American war in Vietnam, our country highlight is Vietnam. Meet author Chi Thai and designer Nghiem Ta, both of whom survived extraordinary journeys to safety from the war in Vietnam and its aftermath. Children will take part in a guided discussion to explore the themes of the book, including who and what are refugees and why people are sometimes forced to leave their homes.  This event is designed to inspire compassion and imagination in young minds — we’d love for your family to join us and share your story too!
